Red Rooster, Oporto, Taco Bell – Which Brand Will Be the Next to Take On 130 Robina Town Centre Drive?

Taco Bell is the latest fast-food brand to vacate the prominent drive-through site at 130 Robina Town Centre Drive (near the Robina Parkway roundabout), following Red Rooster and Oporto before it.

The site was shut as part of operator Collins Foods' nationwide restructuring and exit from the Taco Bell franchise. With the pad sitting empty for several months, r/GoldCoast has lit up with locals trading theories and lighthearted banter about what comes next.

The leading rumour circulating online points to US giant Wendy's—which is currently planning an aggressive Australian expansion—though no official lease or development application has been approved to confirm them as the next tenant. In the meantime, the pad retains its unofficial crown as Robina's most reliably vacant drive-through real estate.

Gold Coast Rail Line Goes Dark This Weekend - Robina Commuters Back on Replacement Buses

The Gold Coast rail line is shut down this weekend, with track closures locked in for Saturday 25 July and Sunday 26 July.

Unlike the major multi-week Cross River Rail shutdowns earlier in the month, this weekend's closure is for routine general track maintenance on the Gold Coast Line. Regular train services will resume as normal first thing Monday morning.

Timetabled replacement railbuses will be running to cover the route, but they'll add noticeable time to your trip. If you're planning to take the train, allow extra time — replacement buses are running this weekend—or hit the road early to secure a parking spot.
