Good morning Robina. Four months after the death of Max Taranto, the Pyrmont Street and Cottesloe Drive intersection has struck again, this time leaving a motorcyclist in hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. Furious locals say enough is enough, and this week we take a closer look at the intersection causing so much concern.
Women’s State of Origin Game 3 is heading to Cbus Super Stadium on 28 May, while Robina City SC are building momentum ahead of another home game this Saturday. On a sweeter note, iconic American chocolatier See’s Candies has quietly opened its very first Australian store right here at Robina Town Centre.
Plus, this Saturday night Greenheart Robina Parklands is hosting a free outdoor movie night complete with food trucks and councillor-sponsored popcorn. Not a sentence you read every day, but somehow it feels very Robina lately.

Another Serious Crash At Robina's Deadliest Intersection - Locals Demand Action

A motorcyclist is in hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after another serious crash at the corner of Pyrmont Street and Cottesloe Drive. It is the same intersection where 22-year-old Max Taranto was killed in January.
The crash happened at about 9:30am on Sunday, 10 May. A man in his 30s was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with abdominal, leg and hand injuries. Traffic was blocked for around 90 minutes. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Locals who were already calling for traffic lights or a roundabout after January's fatality are asking the same questions again. Same calls. Same intersection. Another person in hospital.
If you drive through Pyrmont Street or Cottesloe Drive regularly, you know this spot. The question is whether the people who can act will finally start treating it as the priority locals say it is.

Greenheart Robina Parklands is on Stadium Drive, about five minutes from the Town Centre.

If you’re tired of plain white walls and cookie-cutter interiors, this one’s worth a look.
I recently caught up with Michael and Debbie from Artizans International, who’ve been creating hand-crafted decorative finishes on the Gold Coast since 1994. Using traditional Old English techniques that are becoming increasingly rare, they specialise in everything from gold leaf and faux marbling to custom murals and furniture transformations.
If you want your walls or furniture to have a bit more character, or you’re looking to liven up a kids’ room with something unique, their work is definitely worth a look.

Women's State Of Origin Is Coming To Cbus - And So Is A Lot Of Traffic

Cbus Super Stadium has Women's State of Origin Game 3 confirmed for Thursday, 28 May. Gates open at 4:45pm and kick-off is 7:45pm. For anyone living near Stadium Drive or Cheltenham Drive, that means one thing: leave early or stay put.
The game will bring one of the biggest crowds of the year to Robina's back door. Good news for local restaurants and bars. Trickier if you just need to get somewhere after 4pm that Thursday.
Closer to home, Robina City SC picked up a solid 3-1 win over North Star FC at Robina Common on Sunday and are looking sharp in the Queensland Premier League. Their next home game is this Saturday against Capalaba Bulldogs - free entry for spectators.
