Good morning Robina. Winter has arrived, and so has the annual battle between staying home under a blanket and pretending you’re still a functioning member of society.
Fortunately, Robina Pavilion has reopened bookings for its lakeside fire pits, giving locals a pretty solid reason to leave the house.
In this issue, we’ve got some of the best winter food deals around town, a major 20-year council plan that could shape Robina’s future, and a bunch of local events to keep your weekend busy.
Let’s get into it.

HAPPENINGS IN ROBINA
Hollywood Came to Robina Parkway

Hollywood rolled into Robina Parkway when Runner, starring Owen Wilson, filmed scenes there on Monday 19 May.
Locals say they only received notice on Friday before a major weekday road closure between Cheltenham Drive and Boowaggan Road. Not ideal for businesses, commuters, or anyone trying to get across town.
Still, it’s not every day a Hollywood production lands in Robina.
No word yet on whether Owen managed to grab a local flat white while he was here.
Fresh Faces in Uniform Thanks to Local Cop Shop

If you’ve noticed a few fresh faces in uniform around town lately, you’re not imagining things.
Mudgeeraba Police Station has officially welcomed a new intake of first-year constables, with the recruits now beginning their careers on the local beat.
Over the coming months, they’ll be learning the ropes alongside experienced officers while getting to know the communities they’ll serve.
For locals, it simply means a few extra sets of eyes and ears around Robina, Mudgeeraba, and the surrounding suburbs.

Robina commuters, take note. Gold Coast and Beenleigh train services shut down from 29 June to 3 July, with reduced services and delays continuing until 19 July.
Major rail upgrades are behind the disruption. Expect replacement buses, longer trips, and extra traffic on the M1.

Robina Central Planning Review - Have Your Say
The Gold Coast City Council has opened community consultation on the Robina Central Planning Review - a 20-year blueprint covering zoning, housing density, transit, and green space. Entry-level housing in the suburb regularly exceeds $900,000, and what gets locked in now will shape what Robina looks like in 2046.

DEBATE OF THE WEEK
Hollywood shuts our road for a day - cool moment or way too disruptive?
The Robina Parkway film shoot for Runner gave locals a brush with fame but also a Monday of detours. Would you roll out the welcome mat for another Hollywood crew, or is a full weekday closure of a main road asking too much?
